Redefine success, have difficult conversations and open things up

Here is a 15 minute talk by Ben Warner which points the way towards a new approach to government and governance that values and benefits from enhanced civic engagement:

Three things stand out for me:

1. Redefining success through civic engagement: moving away from top-down governmental and business definitions of success towards bottom-up citizen influenced definitions of success.  
2. Encouraging opposed groups to have difficult conversations which lead towards real and positive change.
3. Enhancing efficiency and effectiveness through increased transparency: opening up genuinely useful information for public scrutiny and comment.
